The biggest difference to the CBR250R is on the highway where the CBR500Rs performance is more than enough to command your relationship with other traffic. Top speed is 115mph-ish. The 05 cbr would accelerate to 145 like nothing.
But the new 2013 bike it will accelerate to 115 or so and then the power gives a little. It like it loses power and it accelerates way slow like a governor hits it. It still goes up but not like my old 05 cbr.
From what I have seen I believe it is a EPA regulation computer chip that limits it.
